This year, we were especially honored to be a Platinum Sponsor and wanted to share more about this fantastic event that is helping to make waves in the long term care industry.
CANHR’s 26th Annual Elder Law Conference
We were so honored to be a platinum sponsor of CANHR’s 26th Annual Elder Law Conference. While at the conference, Art was on a panel speaking about “Setting Up the Case and Having a Winning Narrative”, explaining how to choose the right cases, obtain the right information, and optimize a case narrative for a judge and jury.
One of our Senior Attorneys, Amber, participated in a panel where she presented about nursing home arbitration agreements, providing updates and tips on how to prevent the enforcement of these agreements, which have become increasingly common in CA as a way for the nursing home industry to conceal wrongdoing.
The other sessions at the conference included the topics of “Estate Planning Updates and Hot Topics”, “Ask the Experts: All the Money that’s Not Spent on Care”, and “Law Enforcement as Long Term Care Facility Reformers”.
The Gharibian Law team was also recognized as this year’s honoree for the Elder Justice Advocate Award.

Since 1983, CANHR, a statewide nonprofit 501(c)(3) advocacy organization, has been dedicated to improving the choices, care and quality of life for California’s long term care consumers. Their 2023 conference was held the weekend of November 17th and 18th.
We partner with CANHR regularly to bring residents, as well as their family and friends, sharing valuable information. They have lots of information regarding choosing a nursing home, news on complaint substantiation, provide fact sheets, and more! They are a very important group in the fight to end nursing home abuse and improve long-term care for everyone.
